Safety & Upgrades

Protect your home, protect your family — with electrical systems built to modern safety standards.

Your home's electrical system is the backbone of modern living. From the panel that distributes power to the outlets your family uses every day, every component needs to be safe, up to code, and ready for today's electrical demands. Our safety and upgrade services address the most critical aspects of your home's electrical infrastructure — so you can have confidence that your family is protected.

Electrical Inspections

A comprehensive electrical safety inspection gives you a clear picture of your home's wiring condition. Our licensed electricians evaluate your panel, circuits, outlets, grounding, and safety devices — identifying potential hazards, code violations, and areas that need attention. You'll receive a detailed written report with prioritized recommendations.

  • Full panel, wiring, and grounding assessment
  • Code compliance review against current NEC standards
  • Written safety report with prioritized recommendations

Panel Upgrades & Replacements

If your home still runs on a 100-amp panel, it's working harder than it should. Modern homes with central air, home offices, EV chargers, and smart appliances demand more power. We upgrade your electrical panel to 200 amps or higher — replacing outdated breakers, adding dedicated circuits, and ensuring your system can safely handle everything you plug in.

  • 100A to 200A+ capacity upgrades
  • Federal Pacific and Zinsco panel replacements
  • New circuit breakers with proper labeling
Whole-Home Surge Protection infographic

Whole-Home Surge Protection

A single power surge can destroy thousands of dollars in electronics and appliances — your HVAC system, refrigerator, home theater, computers, and more. We install whole-home surge protection devices at your electrical panel, defending every outlet in your house from lightning strikes, utility fluctuations, and equipment cycling.

  • Panel-mounted surge protection devices
  • Protection for every outlet and circuit in your home
  • Defense against lightning, utility surges, and internal spikes

Home Rewiring & Renovations

Older homes with knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring present serious fire risks that grow worse with age. Whether you're renovating, adding rooms, or upgrading for safety, we provide complete home rewiring with modern copper wiring, updated circuit capacity, and code-compliant installations that will serve your home for decades.

  • Aluminum-to-copper rewiring
  • Knob-and-tube replacement
  • Renovation rough-in and finish wiring
Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors infographic

Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with battery backup are the most reliable way to protect your family. We install interconnected detector systems throughout your home — so when one sounds, they all sound — giving everyone the earliest possible warning no matter where they are in the house.

  • Hardwired detectors with battery backup
  • Interconnected whole-home alarm systems
  • Placement that meets current building codes

GFCI & AFCI Installations

Ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) and arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) are your first line of defense against electrical shock and fires. We install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas, and AFCI breakers in bedrooms and living spaces — bringing your home up to the safety standards required by modern electrical code.

  • GFCI outlets for kitchens, baths, and wet locations
  • AFCI breakers for bedrooms and living areas
  • Code-required upgrades for older homes
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend a professional electrical inspection every 3 to 5 years, or anytime you purchase a home, complete a renovation, or notice warning signs like flickering lights, tripping breakers, or warm outlets.
Signs include frequently tripping breakers, a panel that's warm to the touch, visible corrosion, a Federal Pacific or Zinsco brand panel, or a 100-amp panel in a home with modern appliances. If you're adding an EV charger or hot tub, you'll likely need more capacity.
Aluminum wiring itself isn't inherently dangerous, but the connections where aluminum meets copper fixtures can loosen over time and create fire hazards. We can either rewire with copper or install approved connectors to make aluminum wiring safe.
GFCI protection detects ground faults (current leaking to ground) and prevents electrical shock — it's required in wet areas like kitchens and bathrooms. AFCI protection detects arc faults (sparking in damaged wires) and prevents fires — it's required in bedrooms and living spaces.
